dave: probably because during his reign he destroyed all other versions of him so none dare challenged him, during the war he brought all other versions of him back so he could recruit them, your one of the few who didn't match his power requirements he said you were "too low to even be one of him" and now your one of the most powerful beings in the world, he shoulda taken the rebels and recruited them

dave: no, you wouldn't, he controls all memories of you and your versions, if he dies, your real past dies with him
