I watched it first when I was 6/7, but really started supporting when I was 9 because of Verstappen (I’m Dutch too so yeah I was screaming when he got his first win)

I’m a Brit, so I saw most if not all of Hamilton’s career. That sounds so wholesome :3

I wish Hamilton would win again. However, I agree we need some new blood like Verstappen

But come on, last race was a joke. Mercedes should’ve gotten some time penalties. And with the accident at Silverstone in the back of my head it’s justified that Verstappen wins the championship. Also disrespectful if Hamilton wins because he would beat Michael Schumacher in the amount of championships then.

I missed last race unfortunately. What actually happened?

-So Verstappen let’s Hamilton by again, just to overtake him again, which is against the rules. Ok fair enough but then……
Verstappen gets a 5 second time pen for not letting Hamilton by on time
(Which is weird bc the FIA itself didn’t first know if Verstappen should let Hamilton by again after that totally avoidable collision)
So Verstappen let’s Hamilton by again but it was already too late. Already had the time pen
Radio delay all caused this.
-Hamilton went on to win, while Verstappen was sparing tyres so he didn’t try to attack again.
-Bottas overtakes Ocon at the line to claim P3 (sad bc I really wanted ocon’s 3rd podium)
-AND AFTER THE RACE VERSTAPPEN ALSO GOT A 10 SECOND TIME PENALTY FOR THAT COLLISION
1. That was the FIA’s fault
2. That slight tap had the same penalty as the Silverstone accident gave Hamilton (which was a lot worse)
-Both Mercedes cars also didn’t follow the regulations during safety car procedures, but the FIA made new rules up so that bottas and Hamilton wouldn’t get any penalties at all

-Then, Hamilton catched up with Verstappen (Tyres of Verstappen were a compound softer and they degraded really fast)
Hamilton attacked again, and literally the same happened as in start 2, but now both go off the track
FIA in Brazil: “Just let them race”
FIA this race: “Aw hell no give P1 to Hamilton Verstappen totally not because we’re helping Hamilton get his 8th title.”
So the FIA gave Verstappen orders to slow down a bit and let Hamilton by.
But it would be nice if Hamilton knew that Verstappen would do that, nice job FIA😂
-Hamilton then really ankwardly bonks into the back of Verstappens car bc of this and claims Verstappen tried to brake in front of him to get him damage (he didn’t, he just got down a few gears)
-In what’s obviously the fia’s fault they decide to make Verstappen let Hamilton by AGAIN (complete bullcrap bc Hamilton had it’s chance at the FIA just wants to make excuses to see Hamilton in front of Verstappen)

-But the way the penalty was given was just a circus to me
So basically:
Bc there was a red flag, there’s no way Verstappen could give the place back, so instead of a time penalty the FIA gave RED BULL AN OPTION TO CHOOSE THE PUNISHMENT
Or time penalty or start P2 behind Hamilton. (Which became P3 because the FIA literally forgot the dream start of Ocon which made him overtake Hamilton. Forgetting an entire driver, seriously?🤦‍♂️)
Red Bull chose the last option.
-Start 3: Verstappen overtook both Hamilton and Ocon immediately in turn 1 (simply lovely) so Hamilton had to hunt for Verstappen
-Meanwhile, a collision between tsunoda and Vettel happened which pulled out 3 virtual safety cars bc Vettels car kept dropping debris onto the track. (Tsunoda got a questionable blame of causing the collision bc Vettel literally turned in on him)

Race start was clean, but at lap 14 Mick Schumacher suffered an insane shunt (this track isn’t really safe, blind corners etc. Why was this on the calendar again? 💵)
-Hamilton and bottas pit under the safety car for new tires, while Verstappen doesn’t, but this would make him drop if he does later

During red flags you get a free tyre change, so Verstappen gets P1 during restart
-Restart: Verstappen defends Hamilton by going off track, but replays show that it wasn’t leaving track and gaining an advantage, because Hamilton pushed him off + when the same thing happened the opposite in Brazil, Hamilton didn’t get a penalty. But now Verstappen does.
Anyways, red flag again because Perez, Mazepin and Russell had crashed (pretty heavily) on a tight part of the circuit……

To sum all things up:
-Free practice 3: Hamilton drives slowly but doesn’t let Mazepin pass (Lewis was in a warm-up lap, Mazepin in a fast lap) , leading into a near collision at 210 km per hour
-Qualifying: Verstappen was 4 tenths (!) faster than Hamilton after sector 2, but f***s it up and hits the wall at the last corner, which made him start P3, behind the 2 Mercedes cars.

So yeah a fcking lot happened, and it’s soooo justified if Verstappen wins
