crossbows, man

basically, ex army dude lives alone. he hears someone break in. he is on the 3rd floor. his guns were on the 2nd. but, he had his crossbow. so imagine being a burgular and walking in and seeing an old man, sitting at the top of the stairs, with his crossbow trained on you. anyone can own a gun nowadays, but if you have a crossbow, chances are you know how to use it. the man ordered the intruder to call the cops and turn himself in, all while the bow was trained on him. no one expects a man with a crossbow; i heard this story about how crossbows are scarier than guns
