Yes I do. The Jedi kept Sith records in the restricted section. That's why Anakin wanted to be a Master,so he could have access to Sith secrets that might tell him how to save Padme form death. Darth Bane created the rule of two and the Jedi were fully aware that he did, but they did not know that the Sith had actually survived. They thought that the rule of two wiped them out, and that there were none left in the galaxy, until Darth Maul that is. That's when Yoda knew that they had not wiped out the last of the Sith, there was still the Master left.

but if they knew the rule of two, how did they not know they still existed? after bane destroyed the brotherhood of darkness he trained zannah and at that point the jedi thought the sith were gone. the sith never resurfaced till maul. when exactly did they find out about the rule of two?

They always knew about the rule of two, as they had the Sith teachings in the restricted section like I said. They thought that the rule of two had killed of the Sith due to infighting, but Bane and Zannah trained in secret.
