Difficult to imagine how many people forgot that PT was feverishly hated.. | I am a man of refined taste and skills in review and critique. My credentials are right next to me. What did you think of the Sequel Trilogy? It's release was nothing like the Original Trilogy or the Prequel Trilogy, those were well written, had great acting and a plot you could follow. PREQUEL TRILOGY WAS RECEIVED POORLY, HATED FOR USE OF CGI, LACK OF MODELS, ALLEGED POOR ACTING/WRITING. AT THE TIME, ANAKIN WAS THE MOST HATED CHARACTER. MOVIES WERE CRITICIZED FOR JUMPING AROUND AND GOING TOO FAST OR GOING TOO SLOW. Yes, but Linus in the second panel is saying that ST's release was nothing like the PT release. When, in fact, they're the same. Received by loud toxic fans who decry something that just got out the gate, didn't give it time to flesh out and grow on them.

Give it ten years. I think The Last Jedi will be among the favorites of the sequel trilogy and will be a top contender for Empire. I base my opinion on this:

i dont think i could ever like what disney did to starwars. i just didnt like any of their characters like rey or ren and the story was a bit repetitive. like when the empire tried making planet killing tech for the 4th time or when palpatine electrocuted himself for the second time.
