northern ireland should have independence from Britain

If Northern Ireland becomes part of Ireland that’s he exact opposite of “independence” and it goes against public opinion. They’ll lose their parliament and status as a country along with their national identity. Northern Ireland had a right to exist.

the ira wants to reunite northern ireland with Ireland I see no reason why another country should prevent that

Because Northern Ireland is already quite happily in the UK with its own devolved parliament and the IRA is a designated terrorist group that seeks to take that independence from Northern Ireland.

and reunite with northern ireland would you support a "terrorist" organization if Ireland owned wales and wales "supported it" and you wanted it to be with Britain instead of ireland

If that's what the Welsh people wanted then so be it. But no one wants it so that's a dumb scenario.

they kinda just took northern ireland away from ireland from the name and saying the UK owns it makes it seem they took it away from Ireland maybe a name change might change that but not a guarantee

The UK doesn't own Northern Ireland. It's a country with it's own devolved parliament that is willingly a part of the United Kingdom. Northern Ireland is its own country with a religion and national identity completely different form that of Ireland. Are you seriously supporting infringing on a country's sovereignty because it neighbours Ireland and has a similar name?

no im saying i disagree with northern Ireland being apart of the UK the uk like I said before Invaded Ireland and took it and Ireland isn't doing anything about it which i find cowardly to the Irish population

but still they invaded ireland in 1169 and took it away from them I find this offensive in some way since I'm german and Irish and a country invading a country and taking there land and not doing anything i find cowardly and i feel like Ireland should do something about it

No one is saying that invasion is a good thing, which is why I think it's wrong for Ireland to take Northern Ireland away from the UK against the will of the Northern Irish people, infringing on their sovereignty, and stripping them of their parliament, status as a country, and national identity. Northern Ireland is its own country with a different religion and a people who like it that way and don't want to be invaded by Ireland.

Exactly. When in history has fighting fire with fire worked?

True. That's why I'm a paleoconservative and not a neoconservative. Fighting fire with fire does't work.

i never said ireland should invade northern ireland i think they should merge in a diplomatic way and remove northern Ireland from being apart of the UK which is also going thru brexit and will somewhat impact northern Ireland In some way

How can you possibly merge with a country in a "diplomatic way" if the Northern Irish people support being part of the United Kingdom and like having their own country, devolved parliament and religion, and don't want to lose their sovereignty? Plus you keep talking about Brexit having an "impact in some way" but you've provided no specifics in any of your arguments whatsoever. You're literally supporting an annexation and removal of a country's sovereignty against the will of the Northern Irish people because of some vague argument about Brexit (that doesn't even apply anymore because Brexit is already finished) and the fact that Northern Ireland has the word Ireland in its name. Look, Northern Ireland has its own religion, its own parliament, and its own national identity. The Northern Irish people like having these things and don't want to be annexed by Ireland. They like being a part of the United Kingdom. But you want to completely ignore what the Northern Irish people want because Ireland uniting just looks nicer on a map or whatever.

no i want to end the rivalry against the two and bring them together since they are connected by roots of nationality a long time ago preserve the Irish culture is what I'm going for I'm not normally a traditionalist but I do wish they would merge with Ireland to preserve the Irish culture and traditions they had awhile back I'm not trying to say be racist towards British people and do what the IRA did and kill the brits because of this but I do believe tradition in these people need to be preserved

If anything Northern Ireland is more connected to Britain because they're protestant and many have British ancestry.
