Nope, never mind. According to the order of operations, you would have to do 2 / 2 first, which equals one. THEN you would add the two to the one.

2/2 is actually a fraction. if your denominator (bottom) is equal to your numerator (top), then you get one whole. so, to simplify the equation, 2+1=3.
