I was diagnosed at age 9 with level 1 high functioning. It hurts every time my mom acts so natural about it, like it’s nobody’s fault when I just want to blame this not-normal on someone.

Im sorry, this. Ay be your personal opinion but: high functioning and low functioning labels can be a bit offensive to pepole on the spectrum, I’m just adding a bit of perspective here.

What the lady called me. Idk. Personally, I’ve made it throughout elementary school without being accused of this. Then middle school came around and now’s there’s a name for not-normal.
