The problem with a two party system is that it causes the parties to drift to opposite sides of the spectrum, meaning it’s harder for them to cooperate

I think we've reached the Point of No Return with this here. Even if we try to make a multi-party system, everyone's just going to look for who supports the what side of the original two party system.

Sounds like the Union should be dissolved.

Then what do you mean by Point of No Return?

Based on our current trajectory, this is terminal. There is still room for events to occur that re-unify the country. They're often calamitous. Or, someone has a stroke of genius, or luck.

So rather than try to peacefully split up the country, you're saying we should wait for a miracle or an apocalypse?

A split would not be peaceful, I don't think.

So I should pray, and take gun lessons in case the prayer doesn't work.
