Most manga artists just wanna tell a story

Everyone who draws comics, manga, whatever just wants to tell their story.

Yeah but toxic Americans on Twitter are like: "oH tHIs Is BaD jApAN iS dOiNG ThIS tO cOvER uP thEiR wAR cRiMES"
or maybe
"Oh ThIS iS bAd BeCAuSE tHeRE's nOT eNoUGH fat/female/black/gay/vegan ChArACTers iT's racist/sexist/homophobic/fatphobic/veganphobic!!1!1!!1

You can't please everyone, as an artist. You usually can't please anyone. And you can't let that bother you.
If you're gonna draw or write or meme or play music, you gotta just please yourself even if the "fans" complain.

But the fandom isn't any better, they don't focus on the story or the plot or the talent of the mangaka. They just focus on the fanservice and the ships and other useless things.
