Galaxy

Stardust was inside another space station in another star system. Sky’s friend was supposed to be watching her but she told Stardust to wait by the ship for a few minutes. Stardust still only knew one of their names, despite the fact she had talked to them when they made the jump to light speed after their battle with some pirates. Now Stardust was standing on the platform where ships were coming into the space station and she walked over to the massive hole in the station. It was big enough for a freighter to fit inside, so many star fighters were docking at the space station at the same time.

Stardust sat by the docking port, watching the other ships fly through the starry abyss. The only other celestial body she could see was a planet that wasn’t really that far from the space station for a fighter. The area felt so isolated, not that it helped with the voices of everyone in the station. She still had a headache and couldn’t control her mind reading abilities. Once an a while she had the occasional dream about some of the life forms in the station. She didn’t really think much of it. Suddenly Sky’s friend had returned.

“There you are! I’ve been looking for you.”

Stardust jumped.

“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.”

“It’s fine”

“Alright then.”

The creature then sat next to Stardust.

Stardust and Sky’s friend sat for some time in silence, just watching the star fighters outside traveling across the star system. Sky’s friend broke the silence.

“Beautiful isn’t it?”

“Yeah,” replied Stardust.

“It’s almost peaceful, sitting over here instead of trying to buy supplies in the shops or by the star fighter landing pads.”

{Well maybe to you it is} Stardust thought. She still had a headache from everyone’s voices inside her head. She swore she could feel almost every mind in the space station.

“Are you alright?”

“Hmm…?”

“You appear to look sad or tired.”

“I’m alright.” Stardust stared out into space again. But as soon as she said that, she fell into some sort of dream.

It was the two of them sitting on the same platform, in the very same spot. Suddenly a whole group of star fighters had entered the space station at the same time and gust from their engines had pushed both of them out into space. Sky’s friend was screaming as she was pulled out and her body quickly froze over once in space. Suddenly she was back with the creature in the space station. The creature was shaking her awake.

“Are you alright?!”

“What- what happened?”

“You just fainted is what happened, you were saying something too, I couldn’t quite catch it though.”

“I don’t think we should stay here, it isn’t safe.”

“What do you mean?”

“What if we get dragged into space?”

“I doubt that will happen.”

Stardust had alright spotted the group of fighters that had dragged them out into space in her dream heading for the space station. Maybe it was a vision? She couldn’t possibly see the future. She wasn’t taking any chances though.

“We have to get back to the ship.”

“Sky won’t be done for another 15 minutes, we might as well stay here.”

“I just want to wait in the ship.”

“That’s a fair reason, we could already be there when Sky gets back, come on then, let’s go.”

Right then, the star fighters began to enter at a high speed. The gust from the first fighter pushed them back. Stardust pushed Sky’s friend away from the ledge, just barely far enough away where they wouldn’t be affected by the gust of the engine. Stardust, however, had pushed herself past the thin shield keeping the air in the space station saving her.

However stardust wasn’t feeling anything like she was dying. It did feel odd when she first entered the vacuum of space. Sky’s friend looked on in horror until she realized Stardust was ok. Stardust flew around outside the station. Sky’s friend started laughing. Eventually Sky had come looking for them, only after Stardust flew around the entire station. She didn’t even realize her form had changed as well. She entered the space station again.

“I really should be scolding you right now but that was impressive.”

“Thank you for saving me as well.”

“Come on Stardust, let’s get back to the ship.”

The three of them walked back to the ship. Stardust now realized she was gaining abilities faster, or at least learning about abilities she had faster than before. In the star fighter, she took a long nap.
