Part 5

Prologue:

Ember had just returned to his camp after a fierce skirmish with the nearby Galactic Labs forces. They had come out victorious once again. The rest of the dragons with him had landed.

“Get some rest, we’ll need to save our strength for the next battle” he told his fellow dragons. He was feeling pretty tired himself. As soon as he made it into his tent, he fell asleep.

He had nightmares of the battles he had fought in, watching his friends die left and right. Eventually those dreams faded away and he was standing in that world where he had fought the old Galactic Labs boss and Midnight.

Ember looked around, he was confused.

“Sorry I could not meet you in person, but I’m not supposed to interfere with conflicts such as wars unless another one of us (Ember knew who Midnight was talking about) are involved. However I owe you a lot for saving my life and the universe and this is the least I can do.”

Ember replied, “what is it Midnight?”

“Your daughter Stardust is alive,” Midnight told Ember.

“She is?!” Ember was in shock. He thought Stardust was killed after the weapons test the conducted using her as the target.

“Yes, don’t ask me how, we don’t know how she managed to save herself. I believe she would have lived anyways but she would have definitely been severely injured. I contacted her and I lied about Supernova saving her. We’re using this lie until we can figure out what happened. If it wasn’t for your war I would have brought her back to you. That and I’m not usually supposed to interfere with these matters anyways.”

Ember couldn’t believe it, her daughter was alive. But something doesn’t seem right. The fact that they had to lie to her about how she was saved from a great pain made it seem something was off about the situation.

“There is something more, isn’t there?”

“She appears to have lost her memories she only has a few of you and the flash of light before the weapon’s projectile hit her.”

“This isn’t good. Is she with anyone?”

“That’s what we don’t know. She hasn’t told me anything, and I can’t seem to see where she is. I can only think of 3 people with the ability to prevent anyone like us from tracking them like that.”

“This isn’t good… I need to find her immediately. Does she even realize what creature she is?”

“It’s hard to tell, at least her abilities have finally awakened, I’m sorry I don’t know more.”

“She is in terrible danger! What if she can’t control her powers? What if she accidentally hurts someone?”

“Listen Ember, we’ll get to the bottom of this. As a side note, her form has also slightly changed.”

“Well, at least you gave me the hope that Stardust is alive, thank you Midnight.”

“I’ll contact with you if we have any updates on the situation.”

And with that, Ember fell back into his nightmares of earlier battles.

Stardust was woken up by shaking and loud booming noises. She was back in the starship. She walked over to where Sky would pilot the spacecraft. When she looked out of the window, there were other ships, some large, some small. They all seem to be firing some type of projectile at Sky’s ship from their cannons. Sky’s fighter was firing back, his star fighter’s shields were holding up and seemed to be untouched.

“Oh your up. Listen, if it’s possible can you try to add extra power to the weapons systems or engines?”

“Give the tiny dragon a break, it doesn’t even look 3 weeks old yet. Besides I’m sure it doesn’t even have it’s full strength back yet.” Sky’s unknown friend had entered the room.

However, Stardust was already running towards the nearest power outlet where she could feed the starship electricity.

“I’ll supervise Stardust then,” she says, running after Stardust.

Sky replied, “that would probably be best, don’t divert power from the shields.”

“Got it.”

Sky’s friend picked up Stardust and carried them to a different part of the ship.

“I don’t know how your power’s work so we’ll be learning how to do this together alright. This controls where the power is going and how it’s used. Or at least this is one of the systems. Just be careful not it overload—“

Stardust was already placing her talons up on the device. Her talons sparked and electricity was being transferred from herself to the power core. From there, the extra power was diverted equally throughout the ship, it boosted the shields, engine, weapon systems, and hyperdrive all at once.

“Whatever your doing back there it’s working! Keep it up!” Sky yelled from the cockpit.

“How many more ships are there?”

“The capital ship and a frigate, that’s it, making another pass now.”

Stardust heard the bombs exploding and the ship shake. She assumed Sky had made several of these bombing runs already. At last she heard one really big explosion.

“The capital ship has been destroyed, the frigate gif hit with debris. Making the jump to light speed.”

“Hold on Stardust.”

Stardust felt the ship jump to light speed and she was carried back to the cockpit.

“Good job Stardust, not bad for your first battle.”

Stardust finally decided she was going to talk to the giant creatures. “Thank you.”

Sky’s friend looked at her in shock but Sky didn’t even turn around. “I thought you would be able to speak, I knew you could understand.”

“You can talk?” They said this at the same time.

Stardust replied, “yes.”

“THATS SO COOL!” Sky’s friend yelled. She hugged Stardust close. Stardust talked with the two for the rest of the flight.
