Galaxy

Stardust appeared to be standing on some floating island. She looked up and saw steps rising towards another floating island and what looked like to be an old temple that was falling apart. Stardust was a little nervous but then she heard a voice coming from the temple.

“Don’t be shy, I didn’t bring you here so you could cower on the gateway island. I won’t hurt you. In fact I actually need to speak with you.”

This made Stardust even more scared of what was lurking by the temple. She wanted to run but she looked around and saw she was surrounded by distant galaxies. Even if she could fly, she couldn’t go that far, it would take her millions of years to get close to one of those stars. She didn’t have a choice, and so Stardust began to climb the steps.

After about a minute of climbing, she made it up to the old temple. Her whole body was shaking out of fear. She saw her scales had changed color again, this time to white out of fear.

“I’m sorry if I’m scaring you. Come inside, your safe here.”

Stardust had walked towards the temple. There was a massive creature inside. She didn’t think anything could be that large. She finally had the courage and strength to ask one question.

“W-who are you?” Stardust was surprised that she was finally able to speak.

“Most creatures call me Midnight,” the creature had replied. “We have a lot to talk about.”

Stardust managed to get control of herself and she turned her scales to an icy blue color. She stared at the creature. It wasn’t a dragon like her, but it also didn’t appear to be a giant. She wondered what the creature was.

“I’m not like any other creature you’ll see in any other universe. Nothing even remotely looks like me. Sorry for intruding upon your thoughts.”

Stardust was shocked but she did feel another presence in her mind that was not hers. She began to block it out.

“So you do have some defenses to keep you from having your mind read. Know they will not stop me in the future if I decide to communicate with you through your mind. But we are starting away from the topics I would like to be discussing with you Stardust and we do not have a lot of time to talk.”

Stardust was shocked the creature that called itself Midnight had already knew her name. But then she remembered the red dragon and that flash of light from those first memories she had regained upon waking up on the radioactive planet.

“Your memories are gone? I didn’t think that would happen when Supernova tried to save you. You would have survived either way but you would have had to endured a lot of pain.”

Stardust stared again at Midnight, surprised.

“Do you want some help remembering where you came from?”

Stardust was suddenly thrusted into another memory. The red dragon was there again. Stardust was larger. She had 4 wings and her tail split into two towards the end, though they didn’t have poison barbs at the end of it like hers does now.

She was flying across a desert, it was quiet and peaceful. They landed at a mountain, near a cave.

“I think you’ve finally mastered the basics of flying. I’m proud of you Stardust.”

“Flying is so much fun, thank you for teaching me!”

“I wish your mother was here, she would be very proud of you.”

“Father, who is my mother anyway? I’ve never seen her.”

“I don’t know where she is, but it would be best if we go find her so she can introduce herself. She’s been… busy lately.”

“That would be great! When she comes back we could fly together and be a happy family!”

“Yeah…”

“Father… I wish she was here.”

“Me too Stardust… me too..”

And she was pulled back into her first dream with Midnight.

“Who was that? He appeared in my other memory, is he really my father?”

“He is, but we have more to discuss. Supernova made a mistake when saving you. They were supposed to transport you back to the Nuclear Wasteland where you came from. Unfortunately they flew into the weapons test being conducted on you and didn’t have time to transport you back there. You ended up on a far away planet, luckily it was radioactive. It also appears that your form has changed a little. At least your powers were awakened. Well some of them anyway.”

“What do you mean by ‘some of them’?”

“I mean you have some powers that you can’t seem to control too well, and I believe you will learn more. We need to get you back but I have no idea when you will be able to open a portal to the Nuclear Wasteland yourself. And since you are traveling with Sky, who I thought was lost before, we can’t get you back ourselves yet. We have no idea where you are now. You will forget about these answers after our conversation is over by the way, or at least part of it anyway. Do you have any final questions?”

Stardust took a minute to think about it.

“Are you my mother?”

“No. And I don’t know who is either. Goodbye Stardust, hopefully we find each other and we will be able to return you to your home.”

And with that, Stardust was thrown into another dream.

Stardust remembered who she just spoke with and the answer to her final question, but that was it. She slept for a little while, however one dream kept repeating.

In her dream she was much older. Beside her was Sky holding some type of weapon out, it looked like a gun. It was pointed at two entities currently in front of her, I’ve of which was clearly human, the other she couldn’t tell. On her other side was the red dragon, her father. Beside him were other entities, a few of which were mechanical or some type of machine. There was an orange and black dragon behind almost everyone, but she didn’t know who they were. And everyone was fighting. This nightmare repeated for a long time.
