Yeah, the first anime originated around 1917, around the same time European and American film studios were beginning to make cartoons. On top of that, there are some super-nationalist anti-anime armchair warriors who keep rambling about WW2 as if the war was still ongoing and engaging in strings of old-timey racist slurs. That’s as absurd as some ultra-nationalist French or Polish guy wanting to bomb Germany or Italy into oblivion because of WW2.
