Because AK is a Russian manufactured gun, and is illegal, for the US to produce AK's without a license... oh and btw, the AK-47 was made in 1947 (:

The m1 carbine was 1942-1945, which led to the m14, then m16, then m4. AK47s r 100% legal if they're semi auto. And... the AR is more durable:)

The AK is many more times reliable, as US soldiers much rathered use an AK than an M16 in the Vietnam War. But It is true that the AK was heavily influenced by the M1 Garand.

I dare you to go to youtube and find more test that show the AK is more durable/reliable than the AR. Even the AK Guy has a vid abt an AR and says it's super reliable. Also, US Soldiers choose their weapons in war. If they voted on an AK, they would have got an AK.
