Sorry this one took so long

The ship had slowed down. They were now in another star system. Stardust looked out of the window and saw several planets, one of which was directly in front of her. Except it wasn’t really a planet. It was too small and it was oddly shaped. It even was colored weirdly. She realized it was an artificial planet of some sort. Something where starships could dock, pilots exchange goods, find work, and rest. It looked amazing from the outside. Stardust had started to get excited.

“Amazing isn’t it? I remember when I had docked at the first space station I found.”

The blue giant had spoken so suddenly that Stardust nearly jumped right out of her seat. Luckily she was restrained by some device.

“Sorry I scared ya,” it said.

Something on the side of the space station was emitting blue light. The blue giant had steered the starship towards it. The ship began to slow down as it entered the space station port. There were a ton of landing pads to land on. The ship descended onto one of them and landed.

The blue giant began to speak again: “we need to go get more supplies.”

The one that took off their helmet said “we can’t just leave Stardust here alone.”

“I was about to suggest that you could watch her.”

“I have a better idea, what if we took her with us.”

Stardust didn’t know what she wanted to do, she wanted to explore the rest of the space station, but she also wanted to stay within the safe walls of their starship.

“I don’t think that’s such a good idea…”

“Please… she probably does want to see the rest of the station.”

The blue looked at Stardust and back to their friend.

“Alright, fine. I’ll get a backpack to carry her in.”

The Giant’s friend practically cried out with joy and rushed to go grab a backpack.

The friend returned with a backpack. Stardust was a little hesitant when climbing into the back pack, but it felt safe enough. She found a comfortable position she could stay in for a little while and they picked the bag up. She got passed to the blue giant and he fit the bag to the slot in his armor on the back.

“Sorry if it isn’t too comfortable in the backpack.”

The group left the starship.

Stardust poked her head up outside of the bag she was in. The inside of the space station was much cooler than the giant’s tiny starship. There was space for even a large cruiser could land. A freighter had parked itself up near the roof. There were other life forms everywhere. She heard tons of different voices speaking many different languages, yet she understood all of them.

The giant carrying her had gone over to a nearby trading area. He walked up to some robotic trade dispenser machine.

Was that one of their names? It probably was.

Stardust was starting to get a headache. Not just from the noise inside the space station, but something else… it felt like people were talking in her head.

[Someone’s going to pay for stealing my most prized weapon]

[This line for food is taking forever.]

[I wonder if I could sell these artifacts I found]

[Running the guild station is the most boring job I could have gotten. I should be in the field, not sitting here doing nothing.]

She heard over 150 voices in her head, and she quickly made the assumption that she was reading everyone’s minds. She could even feel the type of energy everyone was giving off. She couldn’t tell who they are though. She suddenly picked out a voice from the rest, it was much louder and clearer.

[This is so overpriced, but I need these supplies. Maybe if I have enough left over I can get a surprise for Stardust, or at least the materials to build her something.]

She assumed this was the blue giant that was carrying her. After this, she fainted from the headache it gave her.

When Stardust wakes up, she’s in the arms of the smaller giant. The blue giant appeared to be in the argument with someone else.

“Hey calm down I didn’t do any—“

“Your a wanted man Sky, you know that? Either come with us quietly or we’ll kill you right here.”

“And what am I wanted for exactly?”

“We believe you destroyed one of our pirate outposts a while ago.”

“Which one?”

The smaller friend of the giant realized Stardust was awake and talked over them so Stardust couldn’t hear what the pirates said next.

“Shhhh Stardust it’s ok.”

“Oh that outpost… yeah I remember that, you attacked me first so I had a reason. The law is still on my side.”

“We run this system as well. So come with us now, final warning.”

An object that looked like a gun was pointed at the blue giant’s head. Two more pirates pulled out their weapons and also pointed them at the entity they called Sky. Before Stardust new what was happening next, she had charged up some kind of attack an unleashed it onto the three pirates. A black beam ripped through their weapons, disabling them. It had cut a hole clean through all of them. Stardust realized the beam was being emitted from her mouth. Sky’s friend looked surprised. Sky’s helmet was still on so she couldn’t see his expression. The black beam had ripped its way through the pirate’s armor but they weren’t fatally injured by it. All of the traders and travelers looked on with horrified expressions.

[that creature is going to kill us all!]

[I didn’t think a creature had that kind of power]

[that’s impossible!]

[Stardust what have you just done]

Sky started to speak, “ok I think it’s time we take stardust back to the ship. Let’s get out of here before we run into more of them.”

Stardust wondered what had just happened, so were Sky and his friend. Stardust had a much larger headache than before and fainted from it again. The small dragon was carried back to the starship as they fled the space station.
