That's a good album: Let's Dance. Before that Bowie was more into being a performer than a musician. Not judging, just observing. MTV may have freed up something in him when he could compartmentalize the glam. Idk.

No it's not. When Rush released Signals... after that we went into a time warp waiting for Alternative Hard Rock in the 2000's. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Dinosaur Jr. those bands were from another planet altogether. That's kind of what I'm saying. I'm not sure if The Who and Bowie, especially the Doors but even Zeppelin understood the nature of rock and roll. It was just too knew an art form. So that is a different discussion from aesthetics. A Fleetwood Mac person myself because of my father, RIP. As it should be.
