Antis write it like that because they basically think that 'game', 'gaming' and 'gamer' are swear words (i know, really dumb, right?). So, they added a censor bot to yell at people on the subreddit if they say either 'game', 'gaming' or 'gamer'. Because of this, antis are now forced to say 'g@mer' with an @ sign.
