“Well where are your parents?” I ask and look down

Rex: I dunno, I lost them through a crowd of people when we're getting groceries from the town over and we got separated

“Oh...do you know where your home is?”

Rex: yeah *points to the right* it's that way but I'm afraid to go alone. It's too far for me to go by myself.

“I can go with you”

Rex: yes please

“Ok let’s go, together.” I reach out my hand for it to hold as we walk

Rex: thank you mister *he holds your hand and walks with you*

I smile at him “lead the way I got you”

Rex: *smiles back and starts leading the way*

I walk with him

*he continues to walk with you*

“How are your parents?” I ask

Rex: they're doing well, how are you mister?

“Oh I’m okay, I’m kinda in crippling dept right now though...”

*is confused as he's still a child* what's that mean mister?

“It means when you don’t give Someone money so they take back your purchase because you didn’t give them money. Think of it as stealing...in a way”

Rex: so they're robbing you mister?

*he frowns*

“...but it’s okay I just need to find a way to get 10,000$ by the end of this month. You don’t need to worry you’ll learn about when you get older”

Rex: it's pretty far- we went to the next town over to get groceries.. there were a lot of people inside so we had to squeeze through but I got separated through the crowd

*lifts him up onto shoulders* now you can look out for your parents aswell

Rex: yeah! My father's a pilot and he lets me sit on his lap in the cockpit when he's flying the plane!
