The color is named after the fruit, when people found the fruit, they named it a Chinese name that had characters that sounded like orange which is what the name came from, at the time they were green. Eventually they became orange and that’s what the color was named after. I’m not 100% sure that’s actually the story, but that’s how I remember it, I do know the color is named after the fruit
