See, this is why I don't visit this stream often. I don't have the kind of judgement to be able to differentiate some of the stuff being discussed here from what other people are saying. I used to love visiting this stream, and I still do! To an extent... It's just become so toxic around here for no apparent reason.

Ok, Reaper, from what I have seen, no one here is heterophobic. In fact, our most active mod, and one of your main critics in the debate on straight pride, is a straight ally (JadetheCrabHighPriest). Also, the reason for LGBT pride is that we want to be seen and treated as equals. Straight pride was created because some straight people felt that they were oppressed by the mere existence of LGBT. Because straight people have to worry about being accepted when they fly overseas, being disowned by their family, and have notably high rates of suicide compared to other orientations- not. I do not have a problem with validating abros who are currently straight, straight trans people, straights who are a-spec or aro-spec, ppl attracted to multiple genders who are currently in a straight relationship, or even straight allies. Every orientation and gender is as good as any other. I have nothing against straight people, but I don’t think they need a flag for it.

Look, there’s a difference between equality and equity. Equality is what the ideal situation would be, where either everyone gets a flag or no one does. Equity is saying, “hey, as a general rule, straight people have had it easier than queer people, so maybe we can have some flags to show that we’re valid and still here”.

Also, I should add my experience on here: I’ve mentioned multiple times about having a crush on someone of the opposite gender, and everyone on here has been very supportive of it and friendly. But I don’t feel the need to use flags to describe the relationship I have with him, beyond the europic and orchid, which I would use for any relationship I have outside of family. The reason being that society sees it as “the norm” for me, a girl and fem-presenting person, to have a crush on a boy.
