Christ is no respector of persons. He knows not every claim of moral superiority is really valid, even if what they say seems popular and appears reasonable at a superficial level.
He loves others, even imperfect people and those that hate him. And because of that, he teaches them how they can be happy and make the world a better place, and doesn't condone choices that will ultimately make the individual, communities, and the world worse off. He knows not every path really leads to lasting happiness, and wants to help others do what's right even if it's extremely hard.
He gets upset when people lead others away from genuine peace using rhetoric that sounds pleasing, but isn't based on fundemental truths. He especially doesn't like it when people do this who know better deep down in their hearts.
Christ wants to promote peace and unity, but knows that there will always be contention coming from those who don't understand him or why he does what he does, and that his teachings often result in division between those who want to listen and those who don't. This didn't stop him from sharing unpopular truths even though it literally got him killed by mob rule, because he knew what was right.
Billions of people have been blessed because Christ loved others, did what was right, and taught good principles, even if was hard, scary, and some people didn't appreciate his effort at the time, or even tried to stop him.
Be like Christ."
I know not all Christians are good at following Christ's example. I'm certainly not perfect. And yes, some Christians really do let hatefulness and judgement consume them. But this meme isn't actually about that. Misplaced hate is hardly a failing unique to the Christian community, after all. Nor is it about treating one's own expectations as universal morals being wrong. If it were, the OP would be guilty as well. It's more or less the point of this template.
Really, this meme is about discouraging others from confronting the popular notions of our day, like pluralism and reckless sexual behavior, for the hollow ideologies they are. I believe that it's important for people, whether a person of faith or not, to encourage others to challenge ideas and encourage them to share their own.
Ultimately, I think I'd rather try to be like Christ than be like Bill, even if being like Bill might be the more convenient option in the short term.
