no it messes up perfectly good children and underprepares us for the modern world, it hasn't changed much at all since the industrial age, when in order to be successful, you needed to work in a factory.
now it just teaches us how to lead an intellectually unsuccessful life

because that's the way the school system is built, however
it's not mentally healthy
the average high school student has the same level of anxiety as a 1950's psych ward patient
we have to ask permission in order to have bowel movements, which are a human need
we don't get to decide anything about our lives while in school, which sends a message to children, telling them they are not in control of their own lives
every child is considered the same, even though some learn differently than others. the ones who don't learn the way the teacher is teaching get labeled as stupid just for having a different thought process
in school, we are governed by ringing bells, and our success depends on our ability to follow instructions, like a factory. because that's what the school system was made for. turning out factory workers in the industrial age, but we are no longer in the industrial age, we have grown and changed, so why haven't our schools?
modern society values leaders and people who are creative and can think outside of the box, but schools teach us to be the opposite, or else we can expect punishment
schools are the reason we haven't achieved inter-solar-system travel
schools are the reason we haven't achieved world peace
if we teach the right things in schools in the right way for each student, it will stick with them and we'll have more einsteins and less karens

Following instructions is the key to success.
The school is putting strict rules on you because they want students to succeed in life. If you know a lot, your gonna do fine moving on but the hard stuff is being by yourself with a random person in an apartment for 4 years. But after all the hard work and effort put into everything you have done, you can get a job, work for money, and no more learning because everything you learned form the past you gotta use in the future then when you retire, you can live in peace.

you can only get so far by following instructions. we didn't get a man on the moon simply by following instructions given to us. if everyone sits and waits for a leader to tell them what to do, no one is going to experiment with their ideas. not questioning anything and only being obedient is dangerous. Yes, sometimes you should do what you're told, but sometimes rules and authorities are made to be questioned. america was founded by people who were fed up with the king's rule. Protests and civil disobedience make countries, good change, and general progression. And on apartments, i have lived in them all my life. it's not so bad if you have your own room and the people living with you clean up after themselves. also, you never stop learning, and anyone can teach anyone. You can learn about a new pandemic, for example, from reading/ watching the news, word of mouth, and witnessing the effects.
And being strict isn't teaching you life skills. it actually just teaches you how to lie well, appear busy, and manipulate people into calming down. I know from experience. Also, if you're held under this strictness all throughout your childhood, once you gain freedom, you overindulge in it due to the starvation for it that you have experienced for so long

It takes a while for training to you carrier
Being a teacher can take over 4 years
A lawyer, 7 years
and more
They learn their skill from instructions while in law school or training
Being strict for teaching or so is a good cause
People can be very strict because they want you to learn the best way possible which is school. And Gordon has a lot of customers to serve which is why he is super strict and he had a bad childhood which is another reason why.

look, i'm not going to argue anymore on this, i mean it is your opinion which you are entitled to, i just think that maybe schools could do better

You can still get far from following instructions
Take Gordon Ramsay for example
He tells strict orders for his chefs to cook and if they fail e gets extremely mad which should happen normally.
Instructions are needed for a short amount of time in your life but could be used later on for assembling something or you have to do something as your told during work.
Apartments can be very hard because you gotta live with someone for 4 years which can be a tough time.
It will take a while to get to know their personality and if their lazy you gotta put more work on yourself or be strict at certain times telling them they have to do something in order to succeed

yes, but after you're a master of following recipes, you're expected to be able to cook without the book and make your own recipe. if all you know how to do is follow instructions, you can't reach your full potential. and what about gordan? who's instructions is he following? no one's because he has reached a point where he no longer needs instruction
also, gordan doesn't yell at them just for that, it's the point of his show to make it like a bootcamp because it's entertaining in a weird way to see and old dude insult people about lamb sauce. have you seen him on chopped kids? kindest dude there.

also, even if our school system has a few benefits, it can be bettered to benefit the children that go through it. Is mental stability really the price to pay for knowledge? and most of the stuff you learn in school, while some of it you will need, won't help you as an adult. schools prioritize knowledge that while can be useful for maybe a few adults depending on their career paths, for most people just simply isn't helping them. I'm in eighth grade, and I know mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell and how to do PEMDAS, but i still don't even know how to do taxes, which should be prioritized seeing as taxes are not only vital to government funding but also legally required of all money-earning adult citizens
