There are many different types from what I’ve read about it. There’s the type that MothTheSpookyProtogen just said, there’s also the type that doesn’t prefer to be in a relationship with multiple people but wouldn’t also dislike it, and this last one I’m not sure if it’s actually a type of polyamory for sure because I’ve only read about it being connected to it once, but it’s when you love one person enough and want to be in a relationship with them, even if it has to be with more than just them

Oh and also the one where you’re in several different relationships that aren’t connected, but they all know you’re in them

Basically that they have more than just one partner or they want to do so.

All it means is having the potential to love more than one person (romantically and/or sexually). What that means for the sort of relationship/s you have is for you and your partner/s to decide.
