school officials don't know what they are doing, and this clearly shows it.
speaking from my own family's experience, I know how it works.
Example #1-The school that my brother goes to, the nurse had diagnosed him with covid and sent him home, he got the test and it came back negative. prior to that, the nurse knew about the allergies that he gets. The principal found out and told the nurse that she can't diagnose kids with things.
Example #2: With me being someone who is neurodivergent, a counselor at the middle i used to go to had diagnosed me with autism. Although, I was never told that by a doctor. The counselor started saying that since I have ADHD, I HAVE autism. I found that as a f**ked up excuse so I got my mom got involved and she was actually curious about my having autism since it runs on her side. so on Jan 1st, 2021, she filled out paperwork to a center for testing for autism and some other things. We still haven't heard ANYTHING from the center, and we are still waiting.
bottom line is
go to a professional who knows what they are doing. schools don't have the right to diagnose kids with things without a doctor's consent or saying. that's why you go to a center or professional for things like this. their information is more accurate because they have the right tests to determine what a patient does/doesn't have. I myself have been told this by my doctor and therapist who know me since the very beginning. so everything I said to you is true information.- from a fellow neurodivergent person
