I don't think the reality of biological human sexes should be ignored just because of the exceedingly rare abnormalities that are hermaphrodites. Plus it literally means having characteristics of the TWO sexes, like Hermaphroditus and Salmacis.

So yes, technically there are 2 sexes, but there are some that make up a temporary 3, that isn't really a 3 because its just the 2 combined.

Common gender is made up, that’s just talking about relatives, not their gender. Things that are not living do not have a gender, they’re just objects
