???: hang on… don’t want any innocent people to get killed now do we? *they sound angry* *talking to some other dragon before landing and setting them down behind allied lines* … this battle is going to be costly, it’s been 3 days and we haven’t gained any ground…

AD 1: not much we can do about it. Their well defended, and their air vehicles are shooting down any dragons that attempt to fly above them. We’ve been promised reinforcements from Mecha, but their having some trouble getting here.

???: if we can’t break their defense in the next 3 days we’re gonna be forced to retreat, and that is something I will be very angry about.

*you look towards the battle, you see a wall of dragons attempting to ascend the opposite mountain, many of them are taking cover behind very large boulders and rocks. You see a large army far above them. There are tanks, a lot of them are wearing lab coats though, not something you’ll usually see in an army. There are also humans fighting with the dragons, they have full combat gear. Regular bullets and energy rounds are firing in every direction, your lucky your barely out of range*

James: What the hell is going on? *terrified*

???: take our friend here to the cave over there. I’ll see if I can work out a better strategy for taking their base. *they fly back towards the battle*

AD 1: well, your stuck with me for a bit. *They pick James up and fly him over to a nearby cave, the walk a little further in so they don’t get hit with gun fire. They then set James down* So who are you?

James: I'm James, I'm a person.

AD 1: how did you get here and where are you from?

James: I just got carried here, and im from North Carolina

AD 1: that’s impossible, well we did carry you to this cave, but how did you get into the Nuclear Wasteland in the first place? North Carolina… so your from Earth right? This is bad… I’m not sure if you can handle the radiation here for a long time. And I can’t open a portal back to Earth until this battle is over. Wouldn’t want Galactic Labs to surround us…

James: wait what

AD 1: yeah, this isn’t Earth, radiation levels are survivable for what now but spikes in certain areas are unpredictable. This means any battles we have have to be quick because of the humans. Welcome to the nuclear Wasteland and sorry for the bad impression. We’ve been at war for 3 years.

James: oh ok. I was sent here because earth had a catastrophe called "The Cherynobl Explosion""

AD 1: vs an army that supposedly helped one man take control of a god? Good luck. Supposedly they were more powerful back then but had less people working for them. Which is why Ember and a few friends he made along the way were able to stop them, that and another god had intervened during their fight. You’ll have to ask Ember for the full details. He’s the dragon that picked you up and brought you here but he returned to the front now. He’ll likely survive the battle but I think Mecha is going to have you sent back to earth before you get a chance to talk to him.

*Mecha walks back into the cave (picture)*

Mecha: alright everyone, we’re going to use this cave to sneak behind the enemy and surround them. The stolen fighter jets will help keep the soldiers above distracted. Let’s not let the lives of the dragons and humans and whatever entities that are currently above us fighting go to waste. We need to strike now. Come on. *he begins walking further into the cave* Oh, and expect a lot of resistance. I don’t think there would be to many Galactic Labs personnel in the cavern but it can’t hurt to be careful. *the other dragons begin to follow*

AD 1: *to James* come with me, I’ll be able to protect you, plus I don’t want to leave you here, you could get struck by a stray bullet or the off chance of someone mistaking you for a Galactic Labs soldier.

James: Alright. *mind: I've been shot before and my leg has been broken*

AD 1: plus there are other creatures besides us dragons here. Wouldn’t be good if I promised to get you back to your home world but then failing to keep that promise because of another creature. *the two of you follow Mecha*

James: oh shit, alright

AD 1: sorry, I would have left you under normal circumstances but I’m mainly more worried about the fact if you were to get captured because I had.

Mecha: the cave gets incredibly dark up ahead. I hope you dragons are ok with that.

AD 1: I bet at least half of us have enhanced vision Mecha, by this I mean better than normal for dragons, not humans. We’ll be fine.

Mecha: alright. *the cave slopes down*

AD 1: I didn’t want to risk you being killed in battle but I can’t just leave you back there either. I would have no idea if you would be there when I returned… if you weren’t there I would have no way of getting you back to earth.

Mecha: is someone new here?

AD 1: Yeah, Ember found them on the battlefield above and picked them up. We were talking in the cave when you arrived.

AD 1: wasn’t that a nuclear power plant or something you humans built?

*Dragons and humans begin to walk into the cave*

James: yeah, wasn't our best idea

AD 1: I don’t know much about your power plants, but I heard the power output is greater than using what you humans call fossil fuels, which I also haven’t heard much about. I don’t really know much about humans. I’m surprised we speak similar languages..

James: Don't ask me these questions, I don't know much about electricity.

AD 1: if only we were on earth to absorb the nuclear energy. *they laugh*

*someone walks into the cave*

???: hey. Is Ember here?

AD 1: no, they flew back towards the battle.

???: alright. I need to talk to him. I just brought you your reinforcements. I have some pilots who deserted from Galactic Labs as well, they brought us some fighters we can use.

AD 1: great, we can use the extra help.

James: I think, if I can find Elon, he can get a rocket built and send us to earth.

AD 1: no need. Your in a different realm entirely. And we can open portals to earth from here. I’m just afraid of them being there waiting and attacking us from behind.

James: I can go through. Im a human myself.

AD 1: it doesn’t matter to Galactic Labs. They would likely arrest you and kill me immediately after coming through, assuming they are there when I open the portal. I would have to guess the location in which to open the portal at. And we haven’t had any luck. We think they built something so any portals we open are opened at a few specific locations only. The only way to bypass this is to go through another realm that directly borders yours. Or take a star ship from here to earth. Which we haven’t seen any land here. Luckily from what I have heard, your world considered them outlaws after their first incident and some of the world’s militaries are actively hunting the few GL facilities on earth that are left.

James: Oh god. Wait a minute, *pulls out a knife* I can defend myself.

Lampen: *scream*

???: see if you can get this guy to a safer area. This is no place for him to be in. Try taking him to the caves on the other side of the mountain. Feel free to talk to him as much as you like, just don’t kill him.

AD 1: got it. *the other dragon scoops Lampen up now and begins flying over to the cave, they land inside, the dragon decides to walk further in before setting Lampen down again, you can hear the battle but it feels like far away now* Is this a little better?

AD 1: who are you?

AD 1: sorry about that, besides the battle, Ember can be a little scary at times. Anyways where are you from?

Human Soldier (now going to be referred to as HS onward) 1: why is there a talking lamp here.

HS 2: oh I know what you mean. Sorry, we don’t have any on us. Anyways here’s the plan. A few small squads will use this cave to get behind the Galactic Labs defenses.

AD 1: good plan.

Lampen: “Sir, it’s fine, soda just helps keep me from rusting”

*The Atomic Dragon who was talking to you stands up and walks over to see the other dragons*

Lampen: “Yeah.. I am metal, heh..”

HS 1: ok

*Mecha walks through the crowd now, heMs up at the front, accompanied by two atomic dragons, one of them was the one you were first speaking too*

Mecha: attention everyone! We will make our way through this cave to attack the enemy from behind. Any questions?

A voice in the crowd: how do you expect us to stand up to the massive an mount of soldiers they have?

Mecha: relax, I have some pilots down at the base of the mountain who deserted from Galactic Labs, they have stolen fighters. We’ll use those to our advantage. I’m expecting to do some devastating damage before we even see their base.

AD 1: it’s a little risky, what if they attempt to do the same thing? We’re stuck in this cave with no way to retreat if they also attempt to use it.

Mecha: it’s too closed off for guns for the most part, it will be close range combat, which I’m sure you dragons would overpower humans quite easily. Now come on. This is our best option. *Mecha turns to walk into the cave, the rest follow him, you have the choice of going outside, staying in your current position, or joining Mecha*

Lampen: “..”

AD 1: come on Lampen. I’m not sure if I can leave you here. I don’t think you should go outside either, wouldn’t want your head to get blasted off.

Lampen: “Okay then.. so?”

AD 1: just come with me, if anyone tries to kill you while your with me, I at least have a chance to stop them.

Lampen: “okay”

AD 1: that makes zero sense.. ok, let’s try this one, How did you get here?

Lampen: “Uh, well, it’s such a blur… me and my friend were escaping from those people in the trenchcoats and we must have split up along the way..”

AD 1: wait a minute, are you from Earth?

Lampen: “Yeah, is this not Earth?”

AD 1: no. Your in the Nuclear Wasteland. An alternate dimension/realm, whatever you want to call it. This realm also connects to other realms, including Earth’s realm, which we started calling “The Overworld.” Don’t worry, there is more than just desert here, but one of the main differences between here and Earth is that there is much more radiation here. It’s survivable right now but we occasionally get spikes of energy.

Lampen: “Radiation!? That makes my joints awfully rusty!”
He moves his elbow to prove his point and it creaks

AD 1: I can get you out but we need to win this battle first, just to prevent anyone from escaping or accidental king bringing in enemy reinforcements behind us.

*someone is walking by the door*

???: hello?

AD 1: Mecha?

Mecha: yeah I’m finally here, you guys needed reinforcements right?

AD 1: ye—

*a dragon flies into the cave at a high speed and runs into AD 1, she knocks him over*

AD 2: oh my god it’s you, I’ve missed you!

AD 1: I’ve missed you too, and I’d like to hear all of your adventures with Mecha’s division, but we have more important things right now. We need to win this battle.

Mecha: he’s right. I’ll go find Ember, I had to leave the pilots down at the bottom of the mountain, so I’ll wait until he tells me it’s ok to get them in the air. I’ve never seen anyone this excited for a battle before. *he runs off*

AD 1: back to what I was saying *standing up* I can get you out as soon as this is over.

Lampen: “Okay.. Do you have any soda around here that you don’t mind me using? It really helps manage rusty joints.”

AD 1: unfortunately… I’m not sure. What’s soda?

*Dragons and humans in combat gear begin to enter the cave*

Lampen: “It’s this fizzy drink with bubbles that is sweet and gets rid of rust.”

(AD stands for Atomic Dragon, their species is able to absorb energy, most notably, energy that comes from radiation or light. They have abilities too, and most are learned over time. These abilities can be pretty much anything. Atomic Dragons can sometimes create explosions from nothing on accident, if this is mastered, then they can choose the effect of the explosion and how large it is, most dragons can’t master this ability they all have, or don’t want to because a lot of abilities are better)

*the two of you follow Mecha and the rest of the group further into the cave, it becomes hard to see (unless you have night vision or something) but it looks like the Atomic Dragon can see just fine*

Mecha: everyone stay on high alert. We need to be ready for battle at any moment. It may be hard to see in here. If you have night vision goggles, put them on. *He continued walking*

Lampen can’t see well, but his head glows a little

*you hear muffled booming overhead, the ground shakes as well, the bombers must have taken off and made a pass over the outer base*

Mecha: one squad stay here and look for any entrances, we can use those to our advantage since most of the Galactic Labs army will be on the upper levels, the rest of you, come with me.

Lampen closes his eyes in fear

Mecha: *talking to Lampen* hey kid, are you alright?

AD 1: I think their scared because I’m taking him with us. I didn’t want to but I felt like there was no other option.

Mecha: he can stay in the cave while we fight Galactic Labs. It’s ok. Now come on, the dragons above us don’t have all day. *he continues onward*
