NBA is Predominately Republican

Who knew that NBA team owners are rich Republican weirdos? ....um, everybody. You know that policy isn't set by the athletes, it's set by the owners, right?

Wrong. It is the players union CBA. The union was insistent vaccines not be mandatory.

I took the time to copy and paste directly from the article so you won't have to work to educate yourself. The NBPA is the players union which speaks on behalf of the players.

Directly from the aforementioned article:

The NBA and NBPA continue to negotiate aspects of COVID-related protocols and procedures for the upcoming 2021-22 campaign, but the NBPA has refused to budge on its demand that players not be required to take the vaccine, sources say, and any proposal that mandates vaccination remains a "non-starter."

I don't think that they ARE speaking for the NBA players. NBA athletes are 85% vaccinated. They already have it!!

Think what you might, but a union DOES speaks their members. In fact, it is violation of any union agreement for a business to speak to a union member individually.

Well, I'm highly suspicious here because most of the athletes ARE vaccinated. I think this is coming from the interests of the owners not the athletes.

How many times are you going to be wrong on this item? The union is sticking up for the players right to decide for themselves - even if they are a minority of the members. Your suspicions are irrelevant.

The players have already decided, overwhelmingly, to HAVE THE SHOT ALREADY!!!

And 15% decided not to be vaccinated - this is not a majority rule and all must comply situation. The NBPA - which represents ALL players - clearly and unequivocally it is each players right to decide for themselves. And the owners cannot make them.

No, 15% AREN'T CONSIDERED vaccinated. Remember that if you've only had one dose, you're not counted yet. The number of athletes who are actually objecting to this is going to be closer to 5% - i.e. the NBA could happily run without them.

This is not something the players have asked for. There's really no doubt in my mind, they're not representing the athletes in this.
