It's a class that includes researching scholarly work and writing arguments to prove a point. There are two parts, Seminar(first year) and Research(second year). I'm in Seminar, and my final is I'm given different scholarly works, and I must write an argument proving a point all the documents can contribute to. Seminar has an AP exam, Research does not. For Research, the final is writing an argumentative essay, but you have to decide the argument, you must find the scholarly work and discover credible work, and you have to prove something new. I have to discover something. Or write about something that hasn't been done before.

huh interesting. sounds alot like the debate curriculum in my school.

It's kinda like debate, but you have to write the paper like it will get published. Because it might get published. You also have to present to professionals in that subject. Also, you have to consult with professionals. Like if I wanted to write about nukes, I have to find a notorious nuclear engineer. It's very hand's on.

Oh wow yeah it sounds very hands on and intensive.

I have a shit ton of things. Technically, counting the hours I have at school and dividing it by 54 minutes(my period time), I have around 9-11 periods of school.

Ah see my first and 8th periods are 50 minutes. The rest are 100. I won’t have study hall for spring semester though. I’ll have TOK instead

For my second semester, it might be easier, but I'm going to try to join Wind Ensemble(band, but better), and it's supposedly hard. It might take a lot of my time.

To get to Research, you MUST pass the Seminar AP Exam.
If you complete both classes, you get the Capstone Certificate, but that's lame.
What you want is the Capstone Diploma, which requires passing Capstone Seminar and Research, while passing 4 other AP Exams. So far, I have one AP Exam passed. Hopefully I pass 2 this year, but the Seminar doesn't count, so I will have to take 2 AP classes next year and pass.
Luckily, I'm planning on taking an AP Science, AP Language, and AP US History next year.

It would help get into...college. How my teacher explained it, just think of it as the Capstone Scholarship. Because it helps me a bunch when applying to colleges.
