Ah, right. He is known as a parasite, a demon. There is no way to avoid him, but I know one way to stop him.

Sonic: Holy water or lucid dreaming, holy water will release that demon and could eliminate him permanently, and lucid dreaming will make him think you have the upper hand, he’s like a dream demon.
