It was a national shame that I KNEW could never happen again because obviously as a people we would learn some important lessons; but after Afghanistan and then Iraq I realized that while the average citizen might have learned from history, our arrogant and corrupt politicians had learn exactly NOTHING except that without a national draft there was never again going to be any meaningful political accountability for any wars . . . no matter how lengthy and fuitless in nature. Left/Right . . . it doesn't matter.
