what do they teach you in history? It was an epic battle site where every Texan (minus 1 woman) was killed in battle, it gave the rest of the army the inspiration to whoop Santa Anna and the Mexican army and win independence

i knew about the whole “remember the alamo” thing with that war, but i didn’t know they were building an alamo site in san antonio

Sam Houston- famous general of the Texas army
2nd President
Mireabeua Lamar (I probably butchered his first name)
3rd President Sam Houston again (according to teh original Texas constitution the President couldn’t have consecutive terms)
4th and final before they became part of America- Anson Jones, he only had 2 months or so before he let America annex Texas
