Here's why I voted for Trump:
- Clinton and Biden are both vehemently pro-death, pro-abortion candidates. I cannot vote for that because abortion violates human dignity in the most fundamental way. Sooner or later abortion will go the way of slavery when society realizes how abhorrent it is, but until then I can't vote for anyone who supports it.
- In both elections, the candidates were scumbags. Therefore I prefered the candidate who at least owned up to his being an a**hole and didn't center his campaign around his personal character (or lack thereof).
- Trump pledged to simplify taxes at all levels and cut corporate taxes, which kept prices from rising. I know for a fact that AS SOON as Biden announced he was increasing the corporate tax I started paying more for many things such subscriptions to Netflix, Disney+, etc. I can't stomach increasing our already screwed-up taxes just to pay for more programs that barely work, if at all (cougheducationspendingcough). I'd rather we lower taxes and fix our programs so they actually work better, which Trump at least said he'd try.
Does it mean I like Trump, would have picked him had there been any real alternative, or think he did a great job? Nope. I wanted Ben Carson to win the 2016 nomination. Trump always has been, and probably always will be, a narcissistic chump who whips supporters into a frenzy and rides that to his goal. I also could, and indeed have, write essays about mistakes Trump made in office. But in the end, he STILL manages to be closer to my values than the Democrats, which in my mind is most indicative of the fact that both parties are out of touch with America. :(
