As for the Democrats in the Texas legislature, they aren't worth a bucket of cold piss if they skedaddle the State like the cowards they truly are. I do hope they get arrested and that their constituents boot them out of office.

I live in Texas and the recent May election and runoff's when local incumbents and most challengers lost. They were openly calling themselves democrats and republicans. They lost because they supported COVID restrictions. Some claiming they wanted to create jobs but people saw they caused enough job losses. Some incumbents had the impression they needed to not campaign but they lost anyway. Greg Abbott's re-election forecast has him losing to anyone running against him. It might be next Spring or next November. The legislature doesn't look good for Republicans to keep control because they just talk about being against restrictions but never sued for not being allowed the power to decide on COVID rules. But when democrats sued over the Special Session these same Republicans whined and moaned because they really showed how they never sued themselves and got jealous over Dems suing. This isn't when Wendy Davis filibuster an abortion bill that later proved she was right to filibuster because it went beyond a simple 20-week ban. This is different and no tea party this time around. The 1989 Special session was about required funding. The 2021 Special Session is nothing more than mythical issues.
