All wrong. Say one makes lots of memes. Many of them have low upvotes. Deleting the unpopular memes makes way for the popular ones. Visitors to your profile acces 'recent memes". They scroll through and are happy to upvote your quality memes.

I understand negligible abuses may happen. The benefits described above, imho, outweighs negligible abuse disvaluing. Thanks for hearing my point of view on this.

Making way as in making way for the wheat by removing the chaff. I take this suggestion personally. I always delete every submitted me me with less than 5 upvotes.

What OP has not thought though is the following. There already exists a penalty for deleting your own content. Future deleted content is no longer processed by the random meme presentation page.

So there is no opportunity for gathering future points; no need to penalize more by taking away all current points. Does pointing out that a penalty already exist help to see this suggestion is less worthy.

The user I'm referring to deletes based on age. He/she has deleted tens of thousands of both memes and comments.

There is a page https://imgflip.com/i/[image code] that randomly offers viewers a meme. This opportunity for points over time is valuable to all users. However users who delete previously submitted content cannot gather points from the random page. Therefore there is a built in penalty already to any deletion of content. The user you mention is penalized. I am penalized for the habit I mentioned. You could make a meme tomorrow and submit it and the delete it. You would then be penalized because this meme of yours will never appear In random. And thus will never gather new points it might have. That is a penalty that already exists by the built in interface we now use in Imgflip. That is the penalty as explained above. Do you think a more sever penalty is needed. You sound like you are promoting the penalty of taking back ready earned pints when 'submitted memes' are deleted. I feel that is an unnecessary extension or worsening.

However memes can’t be upvotes after about a month

This stream is now declaring false things. I attempted just now to uovote a years old meme. I successfully upvote a meme from seven years ago. I observed the uovote tally below the meme. The tally changed from 21 to 22 within a minute of pressing the upvote button.

You have to close the window and reopen in about a minute. It may take longer for the Interface to change the older Data base. Idk.
