A Russian, a Chinese, and an American surgeon were boasting about their work.
"In Russia", said the Russian surgeon, "we have such brilliant surgeons. Nowhere in the world are they better! We had a man who lost both his hands in an train accident. We fitted him with a block of wood and five spoons on each arm, plus a bit of electronics, and today he is a concert pianist."
"That's nothing", said the Chinese surgeon. "We had a man who was run over by a steamroller and lost both legs. We fitted him with two broomsticks, and today he is an Olympic sprinter."
"But", said the American, "the good ole' United States are way ahead of you! I had a patient who came in with a terrible head injury. I opened his skull, removed what was left with a spoon, filled up the cavity with apple porridge, poured milk over it, and added potato starch to make it settle. And today he is the president of the United States of America."
