*Tokkiri slowly descends the slope, gripping Gabby's hand tightly every time she almost slips. You eventually reach the bottom.*

Gabby: Good job. *She smiles*

*Tokkiri giggles.*

Tokkiri: "Thanks!"

Gabby: Alright, where to now?

Tokkiri: "...left, I think."

Gabby: …Think?

Tokkiri: "I've never been down here before."

Gabby: Ah.

Tokkiri: "I never really expected to ever have anyone else down here... so sorry if I'm a bit boring and socially awkward."

Tokkiri: "If you didn't wanna get chained up you shouldn't have tried to steal from me."

Gabby: Didnt know you were here to begin with.

*Tokkiri starts searching through her bag.*

*Tokkiri rolls her eyes. She pulls out a weird-looking syringe.*

Tokkiri: "A transformation waiting to happen."

*Tokkiri giggles and walks towards Gabby.*

Gabby: Ain’t gonna f**king work. I already been experimented on. So.

Tokkiri: "Oh, trust me, it'll work. Soon you'll be a Depthling, just like me. And then you'll stay down here, seven miles beneath the surface, forever."

Gabby: Yeah, thanks for the offer. But respectfully decline.

*Tokkiri is silent. Her hand unconsciously touches Gabby's.*

*Gabby doesn’t show a reaction*

Tokkiri: "This is nice."

Gabby: Mhm. I agree.

*Tokkiri moves slightly closer to Gabby. She closes her eyes.*

*Gabby doesn’t show any reaction again*

Tokkiri: "It's cold..."

Gabby: You want my sweater? I don’t need it.

Tokkiri: "That would be nice..."

*Gabby gives Tokkiri her sweater*

*You hear snoring. Tokkiri must have fallen asleep.*

*Gabby tries to walk outside*

*You exit the cave with no resistance. You're back in the area with the crystal deposit.*

*You can see the tunnel back to the subway from here.*

*Gabby tries to touch the crystals again*

*The crystals glow faintly. You can see your reflection in them, though something's off with it.*

*Gabby touches them again*

*You touch the crystals. One of the larger ones glows rather bright. You see your reflection in it, though you're not the same. You appear to be the same species as Tokkiri in the reflection.*

*About half an hour later, Tokkiri wakes up.*

Tokkiri: "Okay. I'm definitely good now."

Gabby: Good.

Tokkiri: "You wanna go back to the other cave now?"

Gabby: Sure.

*Tokkiri stands up.*

*Gabby gets up as well*

*Tokkiri heads back to the cave. She stops at the top of the slope.*

Gabby: Please don’t fall again.

Tokkiri: "I'll try not to... could you hold my hand, though? It'll probably be safer that way..."

Gabby: Sure. *She grabs Tokkiri’s hand*

*Tokkiri smiles.*

Tokkiri: "Guess we do."

*Gabby smiles back*

Tokkiri: "So... what do you like to do for fun?"

Gabby: I normally explore and try to find shiny objects.

Tokkiri: "We could go crystal hunting!"

Gabby: I’m down!

Tokkiri: "Let's go!"

*Tokkiri walks down a tunnel that appears to have never been used.*

*Gabby follows*

Tokkiri: "I don't go into the other caves much, but I'm sure we can find something."

Gabby: Alright.

Tokkiri: "Take all the time you need."

Gabby: Tsk..

*Tokkiri smiles. It seems genuine.*

Gabby: Don't give me that. Act like you care? Please.

Tokkiri: "I do care!"

Gabby: Then why tie me up? If you cared you would’ve just gave me a warning and everything would’ve been fine.

Tokkiri: "I chained you up because I couldn't risk letting someone leave knowing of my existence. If the humans find out I'm real, they'll never stop hunting me."

Tokkiri: "They'll believe you. They're all just waiting for another story of my existence, and then they'll pounce."

Tokkiri: "I... I think I'm good now, if you want to go back to crystal hunting."

*Gabby just lays on the floor*

*Tokkiri lays next to Gabby. She smiles.*

Tokkiri: "I'm glad we're friends."

Gabby: Same here.

*Tokkiri touches the back of her head. She pauses.*

Tokkiri: "...you wouldn't happen to know first aid, would you?"

Gabby: I do, is your head bleeding?

Tokkiri: "I think so..."

*Gabby checks Tokkiri’s head carefully*

*There is a moderately sized wound on the back of Tokkiri's head that is bleeding. A lot.*

Gabby: This might hurt a bit.
*Gabby uses her powers to seal the wound best she could*

*Tokkiri winces.*

Gabby: Sorry if I hurt you..

Tokkiri: "It's fine. Thank you."

Tokkiri: "Ugh, I'm sorry I injured myself... now you have to wait in the boring old cave for me to recover, and you won't be able to spend as long looking for crystals."

Gabby: I don’t mind. It’ll be more fun with you than if I’m by myself.

Tokkiri: "Alright then."

*Tokkiri slowly walks back up the slope, trying not to lose her balance.*

*Gabby stays behind her, making sure she doesn’t fall*

*You eventually make it back to the cave. Tokkiri collapses onto the couch.*

*Gabby sits by her on the floor*

Tokkiri: "...you don't have to sit on the floor, you know."

Gabby: I like sitting on floors, It’s more comfortable to me.

*Tokkiri gets of f the couch and sits on the floor next to Gabby.*

Gabby: I’ve always slept on floors and dirt and grass so eventually I got comfortable with it.

*You walk down the tunnel for a while, finding nothing, and eventually come across a fork in the tunnel.*

Gabby: Uh- I don’t know-

Tokkiri: "Just... pick whichever one feels right."

Gabby: I don’t think I should be the one to choose.

Tokkiri: "Why not? Even if you pick the wrong tunnel, we'll have fun getting lost together."

Gabby: I don’t really like making decisions, heh..

Tokkiri: "Okay..."
*Tokkiri heads left again.*

Tokkiri: "It's either become a Depthling or become my servant. Your choice."

Tokkiri: "If you choose to become a Depthling, you don't have to be my servant. You never have to see me again. You just won't be able to go anywhere near the surface, and will have to hide down here to avoid humans."

Tokkiri: "Hmm... you won't be able to leave my cave without permission, I'll install a nanotech shock collar on you, and you will be forced to be nice to me and do whatever I say."

Gabby: My family was and is poor, so I started robbing people and finding valuable things to help them. Which means I travel to places where there’s no beds, heh.

*These crystals seem to act like some kind of magic mirrors. No wonder Tokkiri wanted to protect them.*

*Gabby decides to just walk out through the tunnel into the subway again*

*You head up into the abandoned subway tunnel. The thing around your neck falls off.*

*You hear sounds like digging from beneath you.*

*You should probably get out of here.*

*Gabby runs away from that spot, looking back to see if something comes out*

*Tokkiri pops out of the earth in front of you. She looks very sad.*

Tokkiri: "...you're leaving...?"

Gabby: I was just gonna explore a bit more. Sorry, should’ve told you…

Tokkiri: "...if you're this far up, I don't really believe that you're exploring..."

Gabby: …Well I mean.. uh…

*Tokkiri walks into the room.*

Tokkiri: "...that's my old soccer team. We were from a really small town, so we weren't known by most."

Gabby: Ah, makes sense.

*Tokkiri stares fondly at the poster for a moment. She looks away.*

Tokkiri: "...anyways. You hungry?"
