Following takeoff from Taipei bound for Anchorage, the plane ran out of fuel over the North Pacific and stopped mid-air, blocking the North Pacific traffic for flights between San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong.
