Can you give some detail as to what each rank would do and is responsible for?

Colonel is responsible for carrying out raids and orders by the general, but the Colonel can give out limited orders. Commanders carry out the Colonels orders and assist in commanding raids. A Sergeant is a supervisor for Corporals and Privates, and can give quite limited orders to Corporals and Privates, and Corporals keep the Privates in line. Privates are just for raiding usually.
