Actually you are both right and wrong. Austria did start ww1. But at the time it was named Austria-Hungary, not just Austria. A Serbian rebel Assassinated archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. So Austria-Hungary went to war with Serbia, Russia went to war with Austria-Hungary, and all of Europe going to war with itself .Just letting you know :)
