You're not alone. Most of the hate comes from fear that they are actually furries themselves. At least, that's what it came from me, an ex furry hater because my friends hated furries, yet enjoyed warrior cats and pokemon just like me.
I always had fursonas, it was constantly evolving. Most of my life, I didn't even know it was a thing. I may not have the funds for a fursuit, but when I am old enough, I want to work for Disney and create a furry cartoon. Just to showcase pride.
