It looks weird to walk cats and since dogs need to go outside it let's the owner get physical activity and keep people healthy if you don't need to go outside then you won't but dogs give you a reason to go outside

Who the hell cares if it looks weird? Cats can do the same thing, cats are content with the outdoors just as much as the indoors meaning they are much more flexible than dogs.

Dogs can be left alone for a long time and since cats are independent you don't see them as much as dogs and cats aren't as interested in their owners as dogs

Cats love the indoors and are fine with staying inside for their whole lives. Dogs need to go outside to do basic needs like shitting. Even though cats are fine indoors, they also like the outdoors so you can take them on walks with collared leashes and they can enjoy it as much as dogs.
