When I came out to my family, my brother didn't understand. I think he got the biromantic part, but the demiromantic part was confusing for him. My mom told me that she told him that I'm "just smart" about who I date. So I guess that could be a stereotype. However, being demiromantic/demisexual isn't being smart. It's just an orientation.
