NDIGBO BEING-IN-COMMUNITY
ONYE AGHANA NWANNEYA; THIS IS PICTURE OF IGBO PEOPLE BUILDING HOUSES COLLECTIVELY FOR ONE ANOTHER FREE. IN THE OLDEN DAYS, LIFE WAS EASIER. THE IGBO LIVED COMMUNAL LIFE. WHEN A MAN GETS TO THE AGE OF ỊPỤ OBI, HIS AGE GRADE WOULD CONTRIBUTE MATERIALS AND LABOUR IN BUILDING A HOUSE FOR HIM FREE. HE WILL ALSO DO SO TO OTHERS. NO ONE GOT PAID FOR DOING SO. SELF-HELP AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AN IMPORTANT FEATURES OF IGBO SOCIETY. EVERYONE JOYFULLY HELPED ONE ANOTHER TO STAND AS MEN AND HAVE ROOFS OVER THEIR HEADS.
