Well that there is a great question.

The core answer is that as a culture we're devaluing the family and actual relationships grounded in a commitment to love. We've replaced it with the idea that people should live for themselves, that sexuality can be separated from commitment, and in general a focus on 'me' and not 'you'.

Well usually it comes down to 3 things, they are looking to fill something in their life, they are a narcissist/sadist, or they just are dickheads who want nothing more in life then sexual intercourse.
