You’ve got to first correctly identify and understand a problem before you can identify and implement a practicable, effective solution to it. And while pointing fingers at and casting blame on others have caused many problems in this world, they’ve yet to solve even a single one. You’ve also got to recognize your own contributions to systemic problems before you can contribute to their solutions. Engineers are trained to understand how systems work and to solve problems. The whole world - everyone and everything in it - is just one big system. And that’s the way you have to think about it if you want to devise practicable, effective solutions that won’t bungle stuff up to systemic problems.
