Before coming out, you could ask questions like "What if someone you know was gay?" or mention the LGBT community in a conversation. If their reactions are negative, don't come out because it would be dangerous. But if they seem to be cool with LGBT, you can come out safely.

I agree. That was my approach. Start a casual conversation about LGBT and then if they seem cool, tell them. If not, don’t.

I changed my Lock Screen on my phone to the pansexual colors, mentioned my bi friend wanting to go to a pride parade, and told them that I liked their gay friends wedding. Then they asked if I was straight and I said “straight as a circle”

Start a casual convo to assess the situation. Dont be too obvious like dont be like “what if a family member was (your sexuality/gender)”

But maybe like do something that’s like show a parent a picture of a gay ship (nothing nsfw. Just show like a hug or something) if you are part of a fandom and see where that goes.
If your not part of a fandom maybe like find a celebrity or a tv character.

My only advice is assess the situation.

When I came out as trans, I was decently confident that my parents would be fine with it. Big mistake.(my parents are nice to me now)
