And bars should do that. It's good, safe policy.
I'd equate that, to take this from your realm of rhetorical meme to real-world policy, to temporarily removing guns from the residence of anyone who raises a red flag (by posting a social media threat that is clear and direct, not just rhetoric/commits abuse, etc). It wouldn't have prevented this particular situation, but it would be an interesting course to pursue that would achieve (hopefully) results without compromising the folks who just want to own guns for safe fun/self defense.
