they really aren't. If they change the icon and that's all, that's great. However if they sell a bunch of stuff that's lgbtq theme they're simply abusing the community for profits.

You should only really buy lgbtq stuff from people you know
1. are lgbtq
2. are independent creators
3. are generally good people

Ok why tf should I only buy lgbtq if the person selling them is lgbtq

because you know that its not big corporations just abusing who you are for money. And this is just assuming you're desperate for the stuff, ideally you just wouldn't buy it at all but I suppose we still want to buy it right? So it's better to just buy it from people you know aren't just doing it for mass profits.

Companies just do it to celebrate pride month

You need to understand that companies don't care, at all. Companies aren't people, so you can't argue that the company is "celebrating" If they couldn't make a profit off of it they wouldn't, simple as that. A company in the name of capitalism's only goal is money, profits.

My brother is trying to start an animation company and he changed his logo to be rainbow. He does this because most of the actors in his short movies are supporters or part of the lgbtq community. So don’t judge before you know.

What about target which sell crappy pride clothes for ridiculous amounts of money and don't donate really anything,,, they're just profiting
