Well, here’s what I do. Somehow bring up LGBTQ into a convo, then see if they’re homophobic or not. That’s what I did, but i’m still refraining from coming out just cause I don’t feel ready. It’s entirely up to you if you feel like you’re ready, or you just want to wait.

You could ask them "how would you react if your friend was gay/trans" or how they feel about LGBT+ community. If they seem to be fine with LGBT+, you can tell them, but if they're homophobic/transphobic, it's better to not to tell them, for your own safety.
